Deux fois roi de Pologne (1704-1709, 1733-1736), duc de Lorraine et de Bar (1737-1766). Père de la reine Marie Leszczynska, il est l'arrière-grand-père de trois rois de France: Louis XVI, Louis XVIII et Charles X. Stanislas naît en 1677, dans une puissante famille polonaise, les Leszczynski.
