- No, actually – it’s the Dacia Sandero Stepway, the beefed-up, SUV-esque attempt to liven up the Romanian brand’s best-selling family car. You probably won’t be a stranger to the Dacia Sandero, not least because you won’t find a cheaper new car in the UK.
Why did you choose the Stepway over the Duster?
- For us the Duster was going to be too big for us to drive. We felt the Stepway is going to be a better fit and adjusting to the size would not be so bad (as we have driven the Quasqai and we loved the size. (the stepway is similar size). The MPG, the low road tax was a big reason for opting for this car also (big savings there).
How does the Stepway compare to the Sandero?
- As the Stepway is "just" a "rugged looking" Sandero, I suspect the actual car behaves the same. The new Sandero is uncomparably quiet, the 1.2 TCE engine is really made for cars like these, and the new Sandero has most of the tricks and capabilities you'd expect from a quite large city-car.
When will the next Dacia Sandero be released?
- Dacia will roll out the mid-cycle refresh next year, and the third generation is expected in late 20 model. Even though details on the all-new model are slim at the present moment, there is no denying the Romanian automaker will take inspiration from the Sandero in terms of exterior styling.
