Two years later, the creators still haven't changed the ending, despite massive outcry. The final volume of Attack on Titan will come out in Japan in June and in the West in the fall, so if Isayama doesn't change the ending for the tankobon release, I doubt he ever will.

They were humans once but when injected with the titan serum, their body parts grow big making some parts have a different size. They are more creepy as hell because they eat humans and have that freaking smile.
