Le traité établissant une constitution pour l'Europe (également appelé “traité constitutionnel européen” devait régir le fonctionnement de l'Union européenne à partir du 1er novembre 2006. Il n'est jamais entré en vigueur, suite au “non” des référendums français (mai 2005) et néerlandais (juin 2005).
